Monday October 21 post-class

We are moving ahead on our own RAB work.  We have finished our practice source entry work.  You should have a good idea of the four part-structure of the Source Entry.

  1. If you have changed or revised your RAB Proposal, go into your original post in the Open lab, and put the new RAB Proposal there.  Then add the word “Updated” to your title, so I know you have revised your proposal.  Remember you should be working on your own MSWord document on your own computer.  ALWAYS have the master copy of your work on your own computer!  You can copy and paste into the Open Lab.

Use the handout I gave in class on how to write the proposal and FOLLOW the paragraph template!

2. Everyone should have one print article source to use as Source 1 for your own RAB.  I am loosening up here.  It can be either a feature piece, a news piece, or an opinion piece.  (Not yet podcast or video or other type – let’s save that for third source).

I saw many of you printed out a couple of choices in class today. GOOD – you will have choice!  Choose the source you like best, the one that strongly addresses your question, the one you WANT to read and study and annotate because —  that’s what you should be doing right now.  ANNOTATE and READ it THOROUGHLY.  You should know your source article very well.

For Wednesday, bring your annotated source to class.  We meet in the computer lab (ground floor) and we will work on writing the Source Entry.

By Saturday I am asking you to UPLOAD TO GOOGLE DRIVE in a folder that I will create – your complete Source Entry 1.

Then for Monday’s class, you will bring two hard copies (printed-out) to share in a peer review session.

OK – I hope that scheduling is clear.  I see some interesting research projects beginning to develop.  Let’s get going!
