Tip 1: Coming to class physically is a very simple effort but very crucial to the understanding of the class. It’s important for a student to be present in class so that they are able to understand the material of the class, as well as the new information that is given every class through the professor. In class, the professor goes over new units, readings, material, upcoming assignments and most importantly how to correctly get unit exams and projects done successfully. All of these factors are important when it comes to excelling and completing the class at the end of a semester. Attending class also allows a professor to know the student is responsible and dedicated to be present in the class overall. Being physically in class prevents any delay in learning and in your education journey in general since the student will be well informed and prepared for every activity and any exams that the professor assigns.
Tip 3: Trying new things as you’re taking a class can have outstanding benefits. Studying skills and techniques that you learned years ago or for another class, may not always work for every class and that’s okay. From my personal experience, it’s very important to stay open to suggestions and advice from either your class peers or your professors. It’s like a trial and error because you will be receiving a few recommendations and advice you will be aware of which ones benefited your learning and which ones didn’t. However, if a student is struggling academically and isn’t open to listening and experimenting new learning tactics they will never know what helps them the most. This can affect them negatively in the long run because they will continue to use skills and techniques that no longer work for them causing them to perform weakly in the class.
