Using an arduino and components from class, students will build an interactive electronic device that responds to proximity of a real human hand to then activate a servo-hand to provide a “high five”.  LED’s and a small speaker will also be used to highlight the relationship and provide both interactive and celebratory behavior.

MATERIALS

Arduino, Breadboard, wire, 1 photo resistor. 1 servo motor, 3 LEDS, 1 RGB LED, 1 small speaker, 1 drinking straw, paper/cardboard, scotch tape + 1 1K-ohm resistor, 6 220-ohm resistors

All students are required to purchase the following electronics kit.  Do not purchase an alternative kit – these exact components are needed for all projects in this course.
