Our group started with two people however, we developed into a group of four people. In which we all helped collaboratively in finding research for greenhouse gas emissions. Our group came up with this topic because we were inspired on the initial research of one of our team members that conducted their research on how cow flatulence causes exposure of carbon dioxide. Which lead us to our final performance on awareness of CO2 in to the atmosphere affecting our health and the earth. Our research consisted of how cows emit (24%) of CO2 together with agriculture land use that are polluting our air. Furthermore, not only cows produce CO2. Other factors such as technology emit (35%), transportation (14%) and industry (21%), distribute CO2 into the air. After the research that each one of us in the group did, we began to discuss about different places we could conduct to do our performances. In the end, we chose to do our performance at Cadman plaza to inform the population on various effects that CO2 has on the atmosphere.
As a group we established a strategy to go around the park to effectively reach all of the public audience around us. Our audience consisted of mainly children, adults, parents, and teenagers. Our goal was to persuade people not to eat meat to prevent co2 emitting into the air. Our performance was considerably effective in terms of getting certain support of people in park who are vegan as well as children being attracted to our cow costume. Even though we experienced some back clash from the young teens in which they yelled they would not stop eat cows because they love meat. Another strategy we used was to create a poster to understand more clearly what we are trying to inform and persuade at the same time. Nevertheless, we also made a puppet to use in our performance to attract and create a funny environment for the audience. Finally, this was the execution of our live awareness performance in which we believe captivated people in different ways.
