Ecology group – Goals

Project Goals

Research Goals

Our research goals are information we thought we should look into to help define our project, and make it more substantial. To do this we looked for:

  • Internet sources or newspaper articles and government or academic sources pertaining to our topic.
    • 2 articles about noise pollution
    • 2 articles about air pollution
    • 2 articles about light pollution
    • 2 articles about waste pollution
    • 2 articles about environmental psychology
  • Combine the articles into an annotated bibliography.

Material & Sight Goals

Our β€œmaterial and sight goals” are items we needed to make or obtain, and what would be needed to make the project succeed while on sight.

  • To gain insight on people’s views, opinions, thoughts, and feelings about a specific area.

In order to achieve this we decided that we need:

  • Determine who our audience was:
    • People who were present in that space, including students, workers, and visitors.
  • To create something that will draw attention – to do this we decided to:
    • Make a board for someone to hold up.

We then decided we needed a creative way for people to submit their thoughts as well as incentive.

  • Made a window + frame for people to stick sticky notes on that detailed people’s feelings about the space.
    • Made a stand for the mirror.
  • Designed and made buttons to hand out to people after participating in our project.
    • 4 designs relative to people/noise, nature, air, and light.

In addition we thought that we could benefit from a more detailed survey so we:

  • Created a short anonymous survey for people to take on the spot.
    • Created questions and graphics for the survey.
