I went to the McCann 6th Annual Spring Industry Expo that occurred on the 9th of April. The expo was smaller than I was led to believe since the only other similar event I’ve been to was the Where Are All The Black People event. Instead of a massive floor dedicated to all sorts of jobs and companies, it was just a sizable room with two groups of chairs. So at most there were roughly 30-40 people in the room and in the back were 5 tables for the companies that were there.
The talk was pretty insightful. Since the theme of the talk was about “Day in the Life” , much of the discussion was about how the workflow works and what does the future of AI hold for the people currently in the industry. One of the two things I remember what they talked about was what was one of the most important people to rely on was project managers. Since the teams would have to juggle multiple projects, having someone to rely on to get your affairs in order like reminding you of deadlines or adjusting them or managing project info. The next thing I recalled was the AI debacle. Mainly that it’s only going to be a substitute at best. The example they gave was AI generated content is not easy to modify. If your client wants changes done, an AI generated image does not come with layers for more precise editing.
