Case #4 Chronic Periodontitis

Patient G.B African American male 61 y.o. Presented to the clinic for initial care. Reported good health status and no medications. Patient reported last oral hygiene services were performed 20 years ago.

Recently was seen by the dentist for the endodonthic treatment on tooth #8, which previously exhibited class II mobility, due to the traumatic accident.  As a result of the accident 1/3(full incised edge) of the tooth was completely lost.

IO examination and assessment of the mobility revealed improved stability of tooth #8 and temporary restoration on the lingual surface. Multiple missing posterior teeth in both arches which contribute to collapsed bite.  Generalized heavy subgingival and supragingival calculus as well as generalized recession, however minimal BOP.
