The Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Resource Guide with Core Curriculum is a companion document to the CDOS learning standards. It further develops the core content for each learning standard and career major. The document is also rich with teacher developed classroom activities that help students achieve the CDOS standards.
In alignment with the NYSED goals to develop classroom activities that help students achieve the CDOS standards, its imperative that I complete the requirements to meet the initial certification, Pathway Option G with the following requirements:
- Holds an Industry Related Credential or Passed an Industry Accepted CTE Exam – Cosmetology
- Occupational Work Experience – Cosmetology – 2 Yrs
- Pedagogical Core – 9 S.H.
- College Coursework – Human Development and Learning
- College Coursework – Teaching Students with Disabilities & Special Health-Care Needs
- College Coursework – Curriculum and Instruction
- Student Teaching – Cosmetology 7-12 – 40 Days
- License & Registration – NYS Cosmetologist License
- Workshop – Child Abuse Identification
- Workshop – School Violence Intervention and Prevention
- Workshop – Dignity For All Students Act
- Fingerprint Clearance
