Professional Development Plan

Statement of Personal Philosophy of Education

As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher, I believe all students are capable of developing useful and progressive skills that can assist them in becoming successful leaders. It is crucial for me to create a positive and nurturing environment for students to open their mind, challenge their thinking, develop work ethic, learn from their mistakes, and understand persistence. It is important that regardless of circumstances such as socio-economic backgrounds, culture, or stereotypes, all students are aware that they are cared for and they have multiple opportunities and career paths that can provide security for their future. My students do not need to follow in my specific trade of Cosmetology, but they will leave my class being prepared to function in the real-world.

My Strengths:

  • Managing the classroom with little to no push back.
  • Keeping myself and documentation organized.
  • Maintaining a student- friendly classroom.

Areas of My Potential Growth

  • Being able to relate to the students.
  • Learning how to manage my time efficiently.
  • Incorporating technology in my lessons.
