Assignment #3
In my previous assignment the assessment I ended up choosing was the education planner and the job I was researching was distance Learning Coordinator. While searching about this job online I came across a website called study.com and in doing so I retained a better understanding of what this job requires in order to pursue it. The educational requirement aspect of this job is that it requires a master’s degree. The skills a person would need to have to meet the job requirements would be, having good people skills. What this means is that you should be able to communicate effectively.
Another skill that this job requires is that you need the ability to listen this is because their work can involve addressing student or staff concerns or logistical issues so it is also important that distance learning coordinators are able to listen to others so that they can resolve problems. You also need critical thinking skills, you need to be familiar with different teaching methods and the most important one you absolutely need computer skills. This is because since many distance education programs are offered online and administrative tasks are typically performed on computers it is important that they know how to use computers and current technology.
The median salary of this job would be $78,210. Even though this job seems like it could be for me i’m missing the most crucial factor. This would be knowing how to use computers and current technology. Not saying that im terrible with computers its just i can only use them to a current extent.
