Miss. X Case Study

This case study focuses on a 55-year-old female with several dental concerns, including attrition, an abscess, periodontitis, open margins, and dexterity issues. Additionally, this patient has a history of GERD, arthritis, neck pain, frequent headaches, and high cholesterol. Due to their arthritis, the patient reported slight dexterity issues, especially when flossing, which raises concerns about the possibility of interproximal caries primarily because of their history of several existing restorations. The patient also reported having several bad dental experiences but did not want to neglect their oral health. This case study will explore the relationship between a patient’s dental concerns and overall health, as well as strategies for managing a patient with previous negative dental experiences.

Mr. Y Case Study

This case study focuses on a 43-year-old male who presents with several dental concerns, including attrition, cavities, super-eruption, and periodontitis. Additionally, the patient has not had a physical examination in over 2 years, which raises concerns about their overall health and the potential impact on their oral health, especially since their last dental hygiene service was over 5 years ago. The patient also has a moderately low pain tolerance, in which patient management strategies will be discussed.
