Week 13

Today we learned how the letterpress process works. The first thing we learned was the first stage of printing which is type setting. The typesetting stage involves setting movable type to form the text that is going to be read. The movable type can be any letter in the alphabet or any number set to fill a document.

The next stage is imposing of the image onto a plate. In the imposing stage the type is gathered up or image is set to be pressed on a plate. This plate can be set to any size and shape depending on what you need. The plate is then inserted into the machine so the machine can print copies of each plate.
