The first project we executed during our internship was “REACHE”. What we need to do is rework the logo of “REACHE, “a research institute that represents climate research, assessment and evaluation in higher education. There are five of us working on it, and we usually discuss the logo concept over text messages or at Zoom meetings.
Since we were working together on the logo for the first time, a lot of our ideas did not come together very well. Everyone on the team had different ideas and inspirations for the logo, which led to a lot of challenges with the concept theme.
Everyone had suggestions and ideas for everyone’s logo concept, but no one felt that this was what we were going to do or wanted. So, we decided to each create a different draft of the logo and give it to the client and let the client propose the draft of the logo they wanted.
After we went through the selection and suggestions of our clients, they felt that too many elements of the hand, human, wings, and birds were visually fatigued. Let us start with a new concept. Because once the draft was submitted, we had new goals and plans to work on, and it was much more enjoyable to discuss than when we first made the draft.
We unanimously decided to make changes to the original “REACHE” text logo, changing the letter style and font choice, rather than making a new icon to combine the text.
The good news is that the last new concept scheme has been approved, but I cannot put pictures for reference due to the confidentiality agreement. In the first team cooperation, we also successfully completed the logo design.
