The Coolest logo

The North Face brand is most popular for making clothing and gear  needed for hiking, snowboarding and mountain climbing. The company was created over 40 years on a beach in San Francisco by Douglas Tompkins and his wife Susie Tompkins. It started off as a small ski shop but later sold to Kenneth Klopp who expanded the name. With a passion for hiking he decided to turn it into a living by making a retail business for mountain gear. The North Face of the mountain in the northern Hemisphere is the most coldest and dangerous which inspired the name for the brand. The goal was to supply the most helpful gear to anybody who liked mountain climbing.

The logo is a translation of the Yosemite National park’s half dome located in Central California’s Sierra Nevada. The Half Dome is a rock structure rising 8,800 feet above sea level which thousands of people have reached the height who are most likely wearing The North Face gear. The typeface for the logo uses Sans Serif in bold letters. Also the logo has always had the half of the Yosemite dome to represent it which gives it a great look on clothes.

Since The North Face company had created such a unique logo, it has influenced other mountain gear company logos like Little Mountain Outdoor gear and Gear Junkies. The colors of the logo are white and Orange which is simple also eye catching with the name in big bold letters to make it more identifying. Some celebrities even advertise The North Face line by wearing them to certain events. The North Face is now into pop culture with its cool designs on Jackets.
