The nursing profession has always been one that intrigued me ever since I was a little girl. In recent years, I was able to work in a hospital and learned the business side of industry while working in the administrative office. That position allowed me to be involved with upper level management as they participated in the decision making process for various situations that arose throughout the hospital.
During my time there working at the hospital, I gave birth to my son. The experience that I had with the staff of nurses that were assigned to me during my stay solidified in my heart that this is the career path that I wanted to pursue. Their professionalism and care allowed me to gain a higher level of respect for the work that nurses do.
Since completing my Associates in Nursing, I have been working in the Emergency Department for New York City Health and Hospitals. I am currently pursing my BSN which I intend to complete by the end of the year.
