In this Portion of the semester we were importing various files from programs such as AutoCad in to other programs like Vectoreworks. A program that is primarily used to plot lights and light fixtures for events. The act of selecting a file from AutoCad which shows the Ground Plan would be imported as a room in Vectorworks and then from there you would plot lighting pipes and drag and drop tools onto the pipes. There are similar tools in Vectorworks that are in AutoCad such as the line tool and rectangle tool (except the rectangle tool in vector works automatically gets shaded in) and there are the same auto snapping and dim tools available on both platforms. In Lab 11 on Vectorworks we used a section view of the theater at City Tech from Autocad an put lights and labeled everything and a title block. (Professor: I don’t have vector works at home and when you refreshed me in class on how to get proper dimensions I didn’t have the time to) Below are pictures and a picture of vector works. I could only get the viewer
