My name is Joanna Piotrowski. I am currently in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Science at New York City College of Technology. I graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Science in May, 2017 and obtained my Registered Nurse (RN) license in July of 2017. I had worked in long-term care setting for about a year which allowed me to obtain experience in geriatric nursing. Currently I am working at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. Working on a medical surgical unit allows me to expand my experience and knowledge while caring for patients with a wide range of conditions. My goal for the future is to continue my education and obtain a Masters Degree in Science. I am grateful that I choose a career in nursing because I find it very rewarding and it opens doors for many opportunities.
