Hello my name is Johanna Barcia. I’m Ecuadorian. I immigrated to New York when I was 17 years old. At the age of 19 I started to work as a Dental Assistant and then transferred into the dental billing department. I always wanted to have a profession where I could help people. Since I have been in the dental field I thought of becoming a Dental Hygienist, which enables me to help patients by educating them about the importance of their oral health. These four years have been a challenge since English is not my native language. However, I am very happy that I made this decision. I am highly skilled clinically and am well-versed in the logistics of running a productive and profitable dental office. I am a person who is self-motivated, takes a lot of initiative and I am ready to be a Registered Dental Hygienist and create bright smiles.
