Project Description

The original photo of a New York City skyline is cloudy and during midday. The task was to use gradients and adjustments tools using Adobe Lightroom Classic to give the appearance of sunset towards the end of the day. A large gradient of black & white was used to increase the sky’s brightness. The saturation, brightness and clarity were increased in the adjustments settings as well as the temperature to provide an orange hue to simulate a sunset shining behind the camera within the background.

Reflection

When editing lighting in any photo, the editor must be aware of the direction of the light and to make sure the photograph’s original settings aren’t too dark or light. If the original photo is within an extreme, editing the image will be extremely difficult Like the original image labeled “BEFORE” above, you want to have a balance brightness and coloration of efficient editing.
