I enrolled in the RN-BS program right after I finished my AAS. The RN-BS program helped me to learn more in-depth study of the physical and social sciences, nursing research, nursing leadership and management, community and public health nursing, and humanities. Nursing research helped me to enhance my writing skills and to do research on health system. Nursing management gave me opportunities to enter in the work force with broader clinical management skills. Community in nursing and urban health gave me knowledge of the public health and how to help one’s own community by improving community health and safety through education. The education from this RN-BS program enhanced my professional development and improved my understanding of social, cultural and economical issues that influence health care. Overall, I believe that the RN-BS program prepared me as fully as possible to make the most of my profession.
