Community service and Head start Outreach project :

As a Dental Hygiene students, we were introduced to the different programs existing in the community to help low income families and children to access dental care.  As a Dental Hygienist student you can do a lot to help. Early prevention and awareness about oral health is a key to a good health. I participated in two projects:  Head start and Oral Health Presentation at a local church for low income Hispanic families. For children we offered: Basic oral assessment, Tell-Show-Do Brushing demonstration and Fluoride Varnish application.
