The assignment for the Final Project is to use a real data set and apply what we have learned in class on that data set.
Here are a few possible data sets one can use. If you want to use a different data set please check with the instructor first.
- GAIA DR3 star catalog – This is a small subset of stars observed by the GAIA mission. The 1000 brightest stars and the 1000 closest stars to Earth.
- Infrared Galaxy Catalog – This is medium size catalog of galaxies (25k) with observations taken in infrared wavebands but also matched to visible bands from SDSS.
