In the 4 semesters of clinic, some of the skills I learned were:
- Dental assessment: EO & IO oral cancer screening, dental charting, disclosing & plaque index, caries risk, periodontal assessment and charting
- Treatment & other skills: treatment planning, OHI, scaling and root planing, exposing and interpreting digital radiographs, patient motivation, rubber dam and cotton roll isolation, pit and fissure sealants, application of topical analgesias and subgingival anesthesia Oraqix, administering local anesthesia, proficient in hand scaling and Cavitron ultrasonic debridement, SOAP notes, and administering Arestin (minocycline HCl), alginate impressions and pouring molds, diet counseling, engine polishing, blood pressure screening, and fluoride treatments
