Arestin Case Study

During my final semester in dental hygiene school I had the opportunity to treat patients using Arestin. A patient who has an Moderate to Advanced stage of gingivitis, and 5-7 mm pocket depth can be a very good candidate for Arestin.

This patient is a year old female, that I placed Arestin in 7 sites. She originally came on 04/09/2019 for placement and she came back  back for her follow up to measure her pocket depths on 05/16/2019.  Most of her pockets successfully decreased by 2mm, and some by only 1mm.  The treatment was successful and with the addition of proper oral self care at home this patient will no longer be at risk for bone loss.
