I successfully landed an interview that eventually led to an intern position at Grumpy Bert in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Grumpy Bert is a privately owned mom & pop art gallery/shop that exhibits artwork from local artist and sells artsy toys and gifts. I remember stopping by 2 weeks ago to check in because the shop looked really interesting. I signed up for their email newsletter and they were promoting a need for an intern. So, I stopped by last Tuesday for an interview and I was emailed that day notifying me about their interest in me. I was told to come back on Thursday for my first day. They hosted a book signing by Theo Ellsworth, an artist from Los Angeles and they needed an extra hand to help set that up. I was assigned to photograph the event. At the moment I’m the only intern there and the workspace is amazing and really comfortable. Overall, it was a good first day and Bert, the owner, was very helpful and kind. I’m looking forward to future events here at Grumpy Bert.
