Introduction

Technological advancements as well as consumer’s taste has caused a shortened life cycle for electrical and electronic equipment. These equipment which has now reached the end of their life cycle is now ready for disposal and is classified as e-waste. The improper disposal of e-waste can cause negative effects on the environment as well as health related issues among human. With an expected growth rate of more than three times that of normal waste e-waste disposal has become a challenge for countries across the globe.

To highlight the problems associated with the improper disposal of e-waste.

We will define e-waste and examine some of the problems associated with it’s improper disposal. We will explore e-waste management best practices as is done by some of the world’s leading producers and consumers of electrical and electronic items with a view of proffering solutions to a growing problem.
