Assignments
- Class participation & professionalism – Students are expected to attend all classes, take notes, participate in class discussions, and complete in-class activities while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
- Hotel tour reflection reports – Students are required to take two hotel tours and submit a reflection report for each tour.
- Homework – Students must complete assigned article discussions, case analyses, chapter summaries, or Microsoft Excel exercises for homework. Timely submission of all homework is expected.
- Hotel research project – Students will work in pairs to develop a PowerPoint presentation focusing on a U.S. franchise lodging brand.
- Midterm exam – The exam will be held in class.
- Final exam – The exam will be held in class.

Hotel tours are mandatory in this course. Active participation, along with maintaining professionalism in attire, demeanor, and punctuality, is essential for successfully passing the course.
