- First drawings based on the Ching reading and swell as the first assignment from my professor.
2. First actual floor plan, pending due to damage from scanner.
3. Post office elevation, first elevation i did most details except for the last column existing. I focused mainly on the arches because it was the most significant to me.
4. This is the final assignment and it is based on the Brooklyn Historical Society, overall the assignment was to have 6 drawings two floor plans, sections, elevation. I focused too much onto my first plan which is shown on top left, i changed some of the measurements as well so the next floor plan was a bit of a challenge. This was a fatal error but i was still abel to do my elevation, and section cut. My elevation and section cut had there details where it was most necessary because it shows that i know to the best of my ability what i am doing.
5. This sections are the notes I’ve accumulated from the Ching reading, half of these notes will be posted later time while the ones that i have will be posted bellow.
Notes:
- Sole plate.
- Steel fitch Plate used for bolting down for double header.
- there are steel channel swell that are bolted through the framing.
The types of wood commonly used for houses/apartments/ or even giant structures varies. Sometimes they use the same method but not wood because taller buildings need something stronger then wood. Some example of the woods used are:
- Framing Lumber; Also can be known as structural wood mainly used for house framing, to be more precise i mean studs, headers, roof trusses and floor joist.
- Softwood is also used in some homes or structures, on (ecohome.net) it is considered Standard SPF(spruce-pine-fir).
- Cross-laminated wood is also useful in house framing witch i want to re elaborate that its basic meaning is wood stud framing. But its usually used for residential area houses.
- Elaticity is basically rubber balls and anything that can be found through a shoe lace tip.
- Burdel: type of material when it is broken it doesn’t show any evidence of deformation.(Quality)
- Material are combined to resist combustion. Aswell as if they did cause a fire the chemical that come out of the wood wouldn’t be all that great.
- Knots: hard nodes of wood that occur where branches join the trunk of a tree.
- Shakes are separations along the grain of a wood piece, usually between the annual ring.
- Different wood, yard lumber, factory and shop lumber, lumber is specified by species and grade.
- Types of yard lumber: Boards; interior, sub flooring.
- Reading a grademark: Mill origin Moisture Content 2×4 really means 1 1/2 and 3 1/2
- Woods contain moisture and when it dries out it turns into the dimension
- Wood panel example is ply wood, containing adjacent plus at right angles.
- Oriented strand board is comonly used for sheathing an as sulfuring. Made through bonding layers.

Masonry
- bricks vary in zise coler chiped,
- Concrete blocks, Normal Weight Blocks, Light weight blocks.
- Sement, cocncrete.
- Stone is combined of minerals
- different stone, igneous, metamorphic, etc.
- All can be used for construction having qualities like strength and durablitlity, etc.
- ignious rock has pressure from molted magma and as well as crystilization.
- Metamorphic goes through more pressure and heat. Some examples are marble and slate.
