1. Saul Bass
I learned about this designer from an assignment in another class.
Saul Bass was an American graphic designer and Oscar-winning filmmaker, best known for his design of motion-picture title sequences, film posters, and corporate logos. Saul Bass was an American graphic designer and Oscar-winning filmmaker. So he is not only famous for his graphic design but also for some great poster designs for movies or documentaries.
He is famous for his use of simple, geometric shapes and symbolism. His works can just stand alone and deliver a powerful message. Saul Bass had some sort of inspiration from his parents but the person who inspired him very much is Gyorgy Kepes. Gyorgy Kepes was a Hungarian-born painter, graphic designer, photographer, and educator who taught Saul Bass.
I really like this artist because I think he is very good at using simple designs and his own unique vision to create meaningful work. That’s what I think designers need to do, to send a message through their work.
Down Below is the assignment I had for another class about Saul Bass. This is a Booklet about Saul Bass and his works, and the typeface I Chose.
2. Virgil abloh
Virgil Abloh, who has been described as a genius designer, is at the helm of both LV’s menswear division and Off-White, a trendy high-end street brand.
He started his own brand in 2013 and was invited by LVMH to join the LV menswear department in 2018. He was like a dazzling firework but fleeting, Virgil died on a Sunday in Chicago after a two-year battle with cardiac angiosarcoma, rare cancer, RIP.
Virgil Abloh broke down the boundaries between streetwear and luxury, changing fashion—and street style—forever, starting with his own label, Off-White. He specializes in deconstructing and reinventing as his artistic style. In my opinion, many of his works are modern and futuristic. Ablow began gaining popularity with his personal luxury fashion label Off-White. Inspired by Ben Kelly’s iconic barricade tape designs, his idea behind Off-White was to combine streetwear and luxury fashion and combine them into a raucous and beautiful clothing line.
What I like the most from his works is definitely going to be his sneakers collaboration with Nike, “The Ten” series.
3.HuangHai
Born in Fujian, Huang Hai studied under his uncle who taught at the China Academy of Art and grew up loving painting. After graduation, Huang Hai became a social news reporter, such an experience has broadened Huang Hai’s social awareness. In the third year after working as a journalist, Huang Hai decided to quit his job to see the outside world so big.

He is a poster designer. There are many elements of traditional Chinese art in Huang Hai’s creations, and he injects his own ideas and creativity into them, with large white spaces and just the right amount of highlighting. It is his unique style of combining oriental colors and modern aesthetics that makes him unique in China and internationally.
