Course Description

This introductory manufacturing laboratory course exposes students to major
types of machine tools: vertical milling machines, lathes, drill presses and
grinders. This course covers computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided
Manufacturing also computer simulation of machining processes. Students will be
trained in manual sketching of parts using graph paper and pencils. Projects in the
lab involve CAD-CAM, simulation and manufacturing. This course provides
hands on experience in basic manufacturing techniques and a better understanding
of machining processes.
