    Dear students,

Because of some scheduling difficulties with New York Public Library and the New York Historical Society, we have had to rearrange the order of field trips and class sessions. The NEW syllabus is available on OpenLab. Prof. Swift will distribute paper copies at the next class.

COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE Friday’s class:

Read Wilkinson, “Typology” (on OpenLab in Reading Folder and Blackboard in Content Folder)

Purchase tickets to either Master Harold and the Boys or The Last Black Man at the Signature Theater for October 26 (7:30pm) or October 29 (2pm). You must purchase tickets (instructions here ) before September 23 in order to get the group rate. Arrive at the theater 1 HOUR PRIOR to the start of the show (6:30pm or 1pm) for a tour of the theater.

Make sure you have submitted all work to date:
    – Site Report #1 (Times Square)
    – Site Report #2 (Times Square or other street theater event)
    – Reading Response #1 (outline of article from Taylor)
    – Reading Response #2 (comparison of Edensor and Lynch)

We have noticed that a number of you have not yet completed the work. We recommend that you keep pace with the classwork and don’t fall behind. You need to get feedback on the early projects so that you can improve on your work (and get a decent grade!).

    Profs. Chin and Swift
