Walk into clinic my mind’s a blur,
Lost points I do not wish to incur.
Into the gloves go my fingers and thumbs,
Time to take care of teeth and gums.
Arrange my cubicle clean as can be,
Not a speck of dust can anyone see.
Waiting for my patient my minds a haze,
Slowly drifting into a daydream daze.
I’ll be known as the fastest clinician around,
No one more efficient to be found.
All of a sudden reality hits,
In my chair nobody sits.
The professor then looks my way,
She then says: “Perhaps another day”.
I cry an wonder “why me”?
As the professor notes a PNP.
