Course Description

Ghost stories, urban legends, and tall tales—in this section of Composition II we’ll be discussing, reading, and writing works of nonfiction that test our ability to discern reality from dreams, and parse believable lies from verifiable truths. In this course’ you’ll write compellingly and clearly about the fantastical in your own lives, and you’ll spend much of the semester researching and reporting on a spooky or otherworldly subject of your choosing. We’ll pick up where we left off in Composition I, and in addition to learning to express yourself eloquently across a myriad of mediums and forms, you’ll also continue to hone your ability to read closely and think critically, and in doing so, become a more thoughtful, discerning, and discursive member of your unbelievable world.
