Course Description

“This course is an introduction to the safe use of electricity in live entertainment. Electrical fundamentals such as voltage, current, power and resistance are introduced. Ohm’s and the Power Formula are covered using practical examples with equipment from the entertainment field. The specific methods of power generation and distribution entertainment are covered. Three phase power’s role in lighting and sound systems is discussed. Safety and the National Electric Code sections pertaining to live entertainment are covered. Specific applications for lighting, sound, video, scenic automation and other disciplines will be used throughout the class.”
