The Bodoni typeface was founded by Giamattista Bodoni in 1790. Bodoni was inspired by the Baskerville typeface, the design of Bodoni reflected on how complex printing technology had become at that time. Over the decades, various variations of Bodoni were designed with inspiration from the original.
Bodoni is considered modern typeface since the contrast transitions from thick to thin strokes. The serifs of a Bodoni typeface are more straight with no brackets. The shoulder of letters are generally thicker compared to Baskerville and Bodoni uses double story letters. The axis of letters are vertical.
This typeface is used in many fashion/clothing logos so you would generally see these on ads and billboards.
