Course Description

This course will provide an overview and study of the history of animation and motion graphics. Each class will focus on the work of various animators within a specific time period or genre, from the early praxinoscopes and zoetropes of the early nineteenth century to current and emerging digital animation technologies. The course objective is twofold, history plus an introduction to motion graphics through the use of adobe after effects and adobe animate. This will be accomplished through a series of lectures, screenings, and assignments where students will make their own motion graphic animations.
