The impact of legislation because of self-driving vehicles. The government must ensure that self-driving cars should be built on the ethical principles that will be accepted by society. The policy is to focus on a thorough analysis of the actions of vehicles, while the specifics of the execution are the duty of the manufacturers. This implies that the development and deployment of software will meet ethical standards.

Possible Solution: laws should be passed federally to ensure that all self-driving cars are upheld to the highest level of V2V technology.

 

General market:

One critical challenge is self-driving cars influencing the current job market. For example, taxi drivers would no longer be necessary, long-distance truck driving products could be replaced by a safer, non-stopping vehicle and any delivery service could be contactless, humanless, and cost-less for employers.

Possible Solution:

With self-driving cars influencing the job market,  one solution for taxi drivers possibly losing their job is having their self-driving car work for them. Automated cars can be a part of the new Lyft or Uber. Unfortunately, we can’t avoid the fact that our new future might be completely automated. We do know for sure though that our market will always bounce back and self-driving cars may lead to a whole new front of jobs. 

Car manufacturers:

The impact on car manufacturers with their business model of a car and their market reach. If self-driving cars are common today, tech businesses such as Google or Apple are likely to lead the way and put a significant burden on the earnings of traditional car businesses such as General Motors, Ford or Toyota

Possible Solution:

The regulation will be adopted by the federal government to ensure that all self-driving vehicles comply with the highest standard of V2V technology. Having this will make sure that all car manufacturers are not cutting corners.
