Objectives of the Research

The objective of the research on upgrading City Tech’s computers to meet the needs of students and faculty is to identify the specific requirements and challenges faced by both students and faculty in utilizing computer systems and to propose effective strategies for upgrading the computers to enhance the learning and teaching environment. The research aims to:

  • Assess Current Needs – Evaluate the existing computer systems in terms of hardware specifications, software capabilities, and usability to determine if they meet the current requirements of students and faculty.
  • Identify Challenges and Limitations – Identify the shortcoming, limitations, and challenges faced by students and faculty with the current computer systems.
  • Determine Technical Requirements – Determine the technical requirements necessary to support the academic needs of different disciplines, research projects, and collaborative activities.
  • Explore Emerging Technologies – Investigate the emerging technologies, software applications, and tools that are relevant to the curriculum and research activities of the college. Assess whether the current computer systems are capable of supporting these technologies.
  • Develop Upgrade Strategies – Develop comprehensive strategies for upgrading the college’s computers, including hardware, software, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Prioritize Upgrades – Prioritize the areas or departments that require immediate attentions and upgrades based on factors such as frequency of use, discipline-specific requirements, and impact on teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Consider Training and Support – Assess the training and support needs of both students and faculty in utilizing the upgraded computer systems. Identify strategies for providing training programs, workshops, user guides, and technical support to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Evaluate Impact – Evaluate the impact of the computer upgrades on student learning outcomes, faculty productivity, research capabilities, and overall satisfaction.
