During the presentation I learned that the world of the printing press is a dying art. The most important thing to think about when running a printing press is the production. the more production you have, the more paper, envelopes, etc you can create. It’s never good to buy new equipment because after 5 years, the machines are out of date. Therefore, it is better to to lease the equipment for 5 years.
They’re many different types of machines to increase productivity. They’re different types of printers too. The different types are laserjet and toner based printers. Some printers can make massive prints up to 20 X 40.
Offset And Letterpress Printing
Offset printing was invented in two versions. One of the versions was created in 1875 by Robert Barclay for printing tin, the other one was invented in 1904 by Washington Rubel for printing on paper. Offset printing uses inked images with oil and water to flatten an image carrier in which ink is rolled on and the printing areas of the picture is ink free, making it so that only the area that needs to have ink get printed.
Letterpress printing was invented in 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg. It is where the letters are moved, placed together into words, than ink is put on the letters then pressed against paper to put the words on the paper.
3-D Printer In Space
There are many advancements in the science field today. The 3-D printer will save time and money when getting things into space If small parts break they can just print it out instead of making it and use lots of fuel to ship it up there. There can be other tools created and they can experiment with other tools that only need to exist in a zero gravity environment.
