Visual Quote Project

My quote is ” I put my lifetime in between the paper’s lines… ” by Albert Johnson, aka “Prodigy”.

For my first art piece, I used different fonts for each word of the quote. I placed a photo of the rapper behind the quote. The rapper, Prodigy, is showing his tattoos which reads ” Mobb Deep “. Mobb Deep is a rap duo in which he was part of with his partner Havoc. Prodigy rapped about life in the ghetto of New York. Using different fonts, with a dark background, at least to me gave it a messed up but tough look which could also be said about Prodigy’s lyrics. The word LIFETIME has a thin red outline. I chose red because the color red gives the idea of blood or heart, which then connects to life……. lifetime.

My second art piece shows a sheet a paper with the text placed over it, purposely not on the lines. The font I chose is a graffiti font, because graffiti is usually related to ghetto areas of a city. Also this font looks like it written quickly if written with a pencil, pen or better yet,  a marker. The red horizontal line at the bottom has a heart beat in the color red which is related to life, while having the word LIFETIME underlined. This is personally favorite of my three pieces.

The third art piece is a combination of both previous pieces. The word LINES is in a very thin red color which if placed overed my second art work piece, the word LINES lines up with the heart beat horizontal line of the bottom.
