Capital Records Sound Comparison

Sound for Multimedia

The music used in George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” is the same music used in Tom Graeff’s “Teenagers from Outer Space”. Both movies are science fiction, so the eerie music works in both films perfectly. The same futuristic, ominous sounds are used for the background music and it builds up tension and gives you a feeling of doom in both movies. There are scenes in “Teenagers from Outer Space” which has upbeat background music, which “Night of the Living Dead does not. The upbeat music takes place when the rogue alien runs into town and is greeted by children in a park and a gas station attendant who cheerily gives him directions as well as other moments in the town and with other “earthlings”. There were no cheery moments in “Night of the Living Dead”!
