Word	Definition
Acoustics	a science that studies the production, control, transmission, reception, and effects of sound.
Transducer	anything that converts one kind of energy into another.
Sound	vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard
Psychoacoustics	Psycho acoustics is the study of how people hear. It covers the mechanical functions of our ears, as well as the psychological factors that go into our brains processing the sound data.
System components
Microphone	a transducer that converts sound waves into electrical signals
Sound mixer or console	a device that processes audio signals
Amplifier	An amplifier, electronic amplifier is an electronic device that can increase the power of a signal
Speaker	A transduce that converts electrical energy into sound waves
