According to this peer review, I can talk with the classmate about the article, and to understand the different kinds of the thesis that they had. Just like I learn from MiKi, she found a simple, easy and useful thesis to do her summary which is the advantage and disadvantage about the internet. But, I did a difficult way because I think too much and to choose my thesis that is hard and the thesis is the internet is a mind altering technology. So, I need to make  a lot of paragraphs to combine together. After that, I do not need to think too much, simple is best.

In the chapter 7 “The Juggler’s Brain” by the author Nicholas Carr is going to tell us the internet is mind altering technology. The sensory and cognitive stimuli offered by the internet which follow the same repetitive and addictive patterns to cause change in the brain. In the article, Carr shows some ways to prove that. For example: First, the Internet’s design is addictive. Second, the Internet is a physically intense and encompassing experience to a degree we do not often realize, and the cognitive effects of the Internet are also more profound than we might realize. Third, the Internet limits our ability to think deeply and people use Internet without interface requiring constant choice. At last, people can be distraction by overload of incoming information which impedes our ability to distinguish important information.

Carr shows Turning’s idea of a machine that have unlimited potential for any purpose, and it also changes the human’s life. It causes pushing and developing the Internet which is the web’s evolution offers a compressed history of media because the Internet as a force for making the old technologies absorb. Also Carr points out that the difference of between the Net and other mass media is that the channel of communication goes both ways. In other words, the net can absorb any type of media, and it provides things that media in their original form could not which is bi-directionality. At last, Carr also tells the net also is a platform for personal interaction which causes our lives to change. we would spend more and more time using it according to A 2009 study that reported adults were spending an average of twelve hours online a week, not counting time on handheld phones. In addition, Carr  warns us, the net use is being taken from leisure time otherwise devoted to TV.

According to this article that let us know right now there are many people do the thing is not informality in the internet. They do not show the respect in there. But, they do not realize that, because the respect do not need to select the location, we need to do respect in anywhere and anytime. If you want people respect you, you need to earn the respect from them. So, you need to do respect them first, then you can be able to get the respect.
