In this chapter author talks about Alan Turing and the machine that he built in the beginning of the 20th century, which was meant to be the modern day computer. The machine was limited by information, speed and time. Today this machine is what we call a computer, and through computer, the internet was born. Author also implies that in today’s world we take internet for granted, it is a tool with unlimited resources that can be used by anyone on the planet at any time. He also talks about other various technologies that have evolved over time, including videos, photographs and music, Alan Turing could not have anticipated that this universal machine just a few decades later would become a universal medium and that the price of a typical computing task would have “dropped by 99.9 percent since the 1960s”

“U cant talk to ur professor like this”
In her article “U can’t talk to ur professor Like This” Molly Worthen brings up the issue of etiquette in the classroom between students and teachers. Students have been referring to her by her first name, sending her incomplete, sloppy emails with grammatical errors that resembled “late-night Facebook posts”. This seemed to draw the line for Ms. Worthen and she began attaching a page on etiquette on every one of her classes syllabuses.
Molly Worthen goes further and explains that shes not the only one that deals with this type of neglect. Some of her colleague have similar issues in the classroom. Together they are trying to come up with reasoning and a way to solve this problem. Ms Worthen also brings up history and etiqutte and explains to us how the society dealt with this in the past.
