Because the fiction module involves slightly longer readings, I’m posting these readings with dates in advance:
- Tuesday, March 15: discussion will include Ernest Hemingway’s “Ch. V, from In Our Time”
- Tuesday, March 22: discussion will include Hannah Gerson’s quirky speculative story, “Your Only Job is to Ignore that Phone.”
- Thursday, March 24: discussion will include Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s emotional “Tuesday Siesta.”
- Tuesday, March 29: discussion will include short flash fiction selected from the following, Lucy Corin’s, “Miracles”; Jamaica Kincaid’s, “Girl”; and George Saunders’s, “Sticks”
The fiction reading quiz will be posted on Blackboard on April 5. You also received review notes in class on Thursday, March 31, so consult those notes in addition to notes given in class that date to help you prepare for the quiz.
