Lab4 A

Lab4 A: Build circuits on breadboard

Reading time: 15 mins

In this prelab, we will focus on two topics:

  • Build a simple circuit on breadboard.
  • Measure voltage and current using a multimeter.
  1. A breadboard is the most important component in your lab kits. It is the foundation for any circuits you want to build. The advantage of building circuits on a breadboard is that it is completely solderless and you can modify and correct your circuits at any time.

The following video talks about the history and structure of a breadboard.

2. In Lab3, we learned how to use a multimeter to measure resistance. A multimeter can also measure voltage and current. Pay attention to the differences between these two measurements, dial position and probe connection.

The following video introduces how to use a multimeter to measure voltage and current.

Now you can work on the quiz on Blackboard.  In your lab session, we will practice how to use a circuit using your lab kits.
