This prelab is focused on the concept of Thevenin’s theorem.
Thevenin’s theorem is a handy tool to solve a problem when the load is changing. A complex network can be simplified to a Thevenin equivalent circuit which only include a battery in series with a resistor, so the circuit analysis and design is much easier. Essentially, you need to find Thevenin equivalent voltage and Thevenin equivalent resistance.
The following video demonstrates the procedure to find Thevenin equivalent circuit.
Now you can work on the quiz on Blackboard. We will do the calculation and measure Eth and Rth in the lab session.
