Company Background: Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Company is an American multinational investment banking firm that engages in global investment banking, securities, investment management and other financial services primarily with institutional clients. Gold man Sachs was founded in 1869 by Marcus Goldman and Samuel Sachs. The company made a name for itself, pioneering the use of commercial paper for entrepreneurs and joined the New York stock exchange in 1898. By 1898 the firm capital stood at 1.6 million and has been growing rapidly ever since. The firm is recognized as one of the premier investment companies in the world.
Description of Position: Finance and corporate Legal is in search of an analyst or paralegal to work with the team dedicated to corporate governance and matters related to the company’s Board of directors and its committees. The paralegal will create documents, filings and records related to contracts, financial reports and shareholder information. Many of the responsibilities of a corporate paralegal relate to ensuring that financial and capital transactions are carried out properly. They also ensure that the company operates within the legal requirements set forth by local, state and federal regulations regarding trade, governance and employee rights. Duties include preparing legal documents and case components – such as affidavits, pleadings, appeals, briefs and closings for attorneys – as well as assisting lawyers with drafting merger and acquisition documents, real estate closings and a variety of contracts. Depending on the type of corporation, paralegals may be required to research and review public relations and media releases, trademarks, patent information and licensing agreements. In this job field paralegals may also check financial records – such as stock ledgers, loan and bankruptcy filings, corporate minute books and investment agreements. The paralegal will have to have strong communicating management skills because of the large load of organizing, archiving corporate records and Board committee materials.
My Preparedness for this position: Having working at the Brooklyn public library Finance department as the office assistant for over 5 years I was able to gain the experience working alongside the accounts payable department. There I was able to assist the accountant with the libraries budget funding. Working at the Brooklyn public library I also worked alongside the payroll department accessing the system to print out checks for over 10 thousand employees across the whole Brooklyn Library system. As a candidate for this position I can say that I have over 5 years of experience in the financial corporate business. As the Finance assistant at the Brooklyn Public Library one of my main job requirement’s was to create business memos for the director and set up meetings for the trustees and other major business inquiries. Working as the Finance assistant I also worked alongside the procurement department filing and making sure that all contracts and agreements are all up to date. Studying law and paralegal at New York City college of Technology obtaining my Bachelor’s degree gave me the opportunity to learn how to draft and prepare legal documents and also how to search for cases relevant to any issue at hand. I can ensure that my experience working as the finance assistant at the Brooklyn public library and my education background will be an asset to your company. Not only am I a self-starter but a perfectionist that gets the job done. I have juggled the offices filing, documents and emailing for all departments in the finance department by myself and I believe this is exactly what your company needs.

Re: Mock Interview review
In getting our mock interview’s I didn’t expect to be nervous but to my surprise I was. Usually I am very good at meeting with people and having to sell myself but this time I guess I wasn’t prepared. My interviewee explained to me that I started off very nervous and it showed in my voice and actions. My interviewee added to try to stay calm and breathe everything will be fine. My interviewee also added that once I got the hang of things my interview took a good turn. It went from bad to actually great. I felt myself stuttering, my palms were sweating, and I knew that everything wasn’t coming out well. But I took a breather looked at my interviewee in the eyes and reminded myself that this is just an interview then I felt my words come out a lot easier. When I Interviewed my interviewee she was actually the opposite she started off great but ended off not as great. Her nerves jumped in towards the end when the questions started coming in. For an example “What about this company strike your interest and why do you think you are an asset to this company. To my surprise this was the same question she asked me but earlier on in my interview. We both as a team came to the conclusion that we both need to breathe and be a lot more prepared in our research and memorizing the details we have researched. Eye contact is important; the interviewer will think we don’t know what we are talking about and wouldn’t find us authentic if we read from anything or our resume. Most likely we wouldn’t have any paper work in front of us in our interview. This project was extremely helpful because it directly prepped us for jobs in the future and how to conduct ourselves in having a job interview.
