For my culmination I am going to design the lighting for the 2016 Afro Latino Festival held in Brooklyn, New York. Many of the skills that I’ve learned in lighting design and tech. production will be used during this project. My project will include a drafted lighting plot, instrument schedule, and paperwork detailing my rental agreements and budget records.

What makes this different from the 2015 festival is that this time I will be going at the event with the mindset of a designer rather than a technician. I plan to focus more on the design than the setting up. Also I plan to use the knowledge I gained from last year to help me make more informed decisions. I learned a lot about staffing, power limitations, renting equipment, and time management through experience and I plan to show that in my culmination project.
