My Personal Nursing Philosophy

I strive to use my nursing career as a means to shape the health of individuals and their community with my skills, knowledge, and compassion.  I believe that nursing is an occupation consisting of professional individuals that exhibit and express compassion, respect, dignity, and integrity to their patients and fellow coworkers.  My personal philosophy is to first and foremost be a patient advocate, through clear communication, education, and applying critical thinking, and decision making skills to help better the patients’ outcome.  Each day I hope to bring comfort and kindness to someone just as the nurses in my past have shown me.  True empathy will coincide with my skills to provide safe and holistic care tailored to every client; regardless of culture, religion, gender, age, or race.  As an eternal scholar, I must continue to learn and grow my skills to be a better and more informed nurse.
